Brisbane producer/songstress JOY. gives her killer single Captured the grand piano treatment.. We've been enthusiastically following the progress of Brisbane native Olivia McCarthy AKA JOY. since she first popped up on vocal duties for Young Franco's Close 2 U EP earlier this year (listen HERE). Enthusiastically following became changed to anticipation for everything that comes next once we heard her beautiful first single Captured (listen HERE). So while waiting for whatever comes next from this young producer and thoroughly enjoying her social media game, we came upon this beautiful live recording of Captured, featuring McCarthy tinkering away on a grand piano. Luke Million, Benson, Capetown and Airwolf take Young Franco's latest for a spin.. It’s been a huge year for Brisbane gun Young Franco (while we could never get sick of posting about him - he's probably the most posted-about dude on our website. Following the release of his two-track EP Close 2 U ft. JOY (listen HERE), nationwide headline tour dates and generally setting clubs alight, he’s now back with a four-track remixp package for Close 2 U - featuring re-works from fellow dancefloor destroyers Luke Million, Benson, Airwolf and Capetown. Each brings their own distinct flavour the mix: Airwolf goes dark and deep; Benson wants to keep you on the d-floor late; Capetown brings some '90s house vibes; and Luke Million brings his patented brand of Swiss disco. Yung Young Franco is taking his new banger on the road.. By our count, Brissy gun Young Franco is having a hella-year. First boogieing his way into our ear space on the Pilerats Rat Pack Compilation #1 (HERE), he's toured the country a BUNCH of times, released a huge free remix PACKAGE, jumped on the Alison Wonderland Warehouse Project TOUR, and most recently played every night (!) in the RBMA Splendour In The Grass STAGE. We could never tire of talking about that sexy hunk of disco-house deviancy, and his recent two-track EP CLOSE 2 U is just wonderful: He's back on the road again this week to tour it, playing a whole heap of shows. Brisbane boy wonder Young Franco has just calmly dropped some fresh tunes on the world in the form of the Close 2 U EP, a two-tracker featuring the titular tune (plus vocals from Joy), along with Hurricane. The former is a classic slice of piano house, featuring the soothing vocals of fellow Brisbane babe Joy, while the latter starts out pretty chill before slamming down some super-bass vibes.
