Kele drops a silky smooth new cut from his upcoming LP, Trick.. Kele has debuted a new song - Coasting - off of his sophomore solo album, Trick, due October 10 via Lilac Records/Kobalt Label Services. It follows on from his release with our own Sable, The One (listen HERE), and more recently the first single from Trick - Doubt (HERE). Coasting, with Kele's forever-amazing falsetto over muffled garage-drum vibes, is another peek into the world of Trick - which aims to explore the dichotomous nature of both intimate and lonley dancefloors late at night. Young Sable drops a Pokem-honouring two-track 7-inch.. It's been a huge year for Pilerats Records' debut signee, culminating most recently in a collaboration with none other than Bloc Party hero Kele on The One (listen HERE), a cool-as-ice tune perfectly suited for the winter months. However, as we ramp back up to the Aussie summer and with Sable hard at work on his next EP, he's decided to pump out some goodies to keep the vibes feeling good. Following the earlier Pokemon homaging beast that was Mt Moon (HERE), Sable's Pokemon obsession comes full circle with two brand new tracks in Thunderwave and Surf on the Kanto EP. Providing his own vocoder-fied vocals to both tracks, each come pre-destined as the soundtrack to your beach-filled summer on a release that will see a strictly limited run of 7" vinyls, made up of a pokeball disc packaged in a die cut sleeve. The first single from his upcoming album gets a sweet animated video.. Following a short'n'sweet Australian DJ tour around CIRCO Festival (re-cap HERE), and more recently a cracking new tune with our own Sable called The One (HERE), it's fair to say Kele Okereke is back. And with his sophomore LP Trick due for release October 10, Kele-fever is definitely on the up-and-up. A couple of weeks ago saw the release of Trick's first single, Doubt, and today a rad little animated clip has dropped. Slumberjack are taking their heavy new single on the road.. Slumberjack go from strength to strength in 2014. Following their team-up last year, Morgan Then and Fletcher Ehlers are quickly establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Basenji finally drops the follow-up to Dawn, and it was worth the wait.. We've been hangin' out for Basenji to drop a new original tune following the huge success of his first single, Dawn, and today that time has come. Marking his first release with taste-maker allstars Future Classics, Heirloom pays homage to Cashmere Cat, while still putting Basenji's own unique spin on it. And after he remixed Sable's Foolin' to epic results ealier this year (listen HERE), Basenji has already firmly established himself on the Australian production scene. Should have known we'd just get photos of weird Korean drinks and crying cats.. WA radio institution RTRFM are launching their epic 10 day Radiothon on Friday 15 August across four venues with a host of Perth's finest (seriously - check the details HERE), and the apple in our eye you know as Sable will be smashing things out at the Flyrite stage. There, along with Lower Spectrum and Cloudwaves DJs, he'll be joined by good pals Slumberjack (you might remember a little ditty they released together called SPRINTER), so we figured why not ask these two production behemoths to take a break from sexting and actually interview each other via the iPhone. We should have known it'd just be full of weird pictures, Korean beverages and sad cats, but if you dig a little deeper there's some sneaky little bits of info here and there that might just pique your interest.

Sable and Kele collaborate for #JDFutureLegends.. Just over a week ago Jack Daniel's Australia launched their #JDFutureLegends series with a pretty great video about Money In Music, featuring Australian artists discussing... you guessed it - making money as an artist in the music industry. Featuring the likes of Violent Soho, Remi and KLP, it was an interesting introduction into brands working with creatives, and the perfect entry point to the #JDFutureLegends series (watch it HERE). And as you can see today, it's something we're stoked to be a part of, with this first entry involving Pilerats Records fam Sable, who recently combined with Bloc Party legend and DJ/producer, Kele. While he was in Perth for CIRCO Festival a few weeks ago, Sable and Kele worked together on a new track.
