More Eminem More Eminem

Eminem may have delivered a flawless performance to a packed house at Perth’s Optus Stadium on Wednesday night, but it wasn’t enough to secure him an attendance record.

The US rapper’s long-awaited debut in Perth was met by 60,500, marking the venue’s second highest attendance to-date, blocked only by Ed Sheeran’s second show at the venue last March, which drew in a crowd of 62,622.

Sheeran performed two sell-out dates at the venue one year ago on his massive ÷ World Tour, marking the stadium’s first-ever concerts, with Taylor Swift also performing there last October.

Neither Sheeran or Eminem could take down Adele though, whose performance at the now-retired Subiaco Oval holds the state’s record for most-attended show, the English singer pulling 65,500 fans as her 2017 tour kicked off.

Eminem wrapped his 2019 Rapture Australian tour in Perth earlier this week to rave reviews, The Music noting “the rapper didn't let anyone down” with a huge two-hour set that included more than 30 fan favourites.
