The network's Channel Manager has confirmed the news.

SBS has confirmed that long-running show RocKwiz will not be returning in 2019.

As TV Tonight reports, SBS Channel Manager Ben Nguyen confirmed the news while announcing the network's program wrap-up for the year ahead.

“The decision we’ve made is that it is time to call an end to RocKwiz after a long success on SBS,” Nguyen said.

“[Co-host Julia Zemiro] became a big talent through SBS but it is a natural decision as channels evolve and moving into new spaces over time.”

The hugely-popular music program's future has been uncertain for some time, with Zemiro even admitting late last year that it was unclear if the show would return

“I think SBS wants to try new things, but we are still talking," Zemiro said at the time.

In a statement given to The Music today, SBS said, "After more than a decade, SBS has made the decision not to commission a new series of RocKwiz.

"We thank the production team for all of their work in entertaining Australians over the years – 12 seasons, in addition to multiple specials and live shows, is an incredible achievement for any TV series. We also recognise the many dedicated fans who have supported the show since it was first shown on SBS in 2005."

After premiering in 2005, RocKwiz ran for a total of 14 seasons up until 2016. Special guest performers in its run included Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly, Chrissy Amphlett, Chris Cheney, Deborah Conway, Julia Stone, Courtney Barnett, Billy Bragg, Missy Higgins, Marcia Hines, Sarah Blasko and Tina Arena.
