The winners will be announced this weekend!
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) has today revealed the categories and nominations for the 2019 awards to be handed out this weekend.
MICF favourites such as Anne Edmonds, Nath Valvo and Cassie Workman, as well as UK comics Tom Allen and James Acaster, have scored nominations in the Most Outstanding Show category, formerly known as the Stella and Barry Award.
“Melbourne International Comedy Festival is one of the world’s greatest comedy festivals and it is time for the award for most outstanding show to be in our name to celebrate the city that inspired the growth of our Festival and its outstanding artists,” Festival Director Susan Provan said.
Meanwhile, Blake Freeman, Dan Rath, Nina Oyama and Oliver Coleman are up for Best Newcomer. Additional awards to be handed out this weekend include the People's Choice Award, the Directors' Choice Award, The Piece Of Wood and The Funny Tonne.
Award winners will be announced at 1pm this Saturday (20 April).
