Eminem's current stadium tour of Australia has been the rap icon's biggest yet and that fact was solidified last night in Melbourne.

The US legend's show at the MCG smashed the venue's live concert attendance record with 80,708 fans at the gig, beating the record previously set by the Sound Relief concert in 2009, which was attended by 80,518 people.

President and CEO of TEG DAINTY, Paul Dainty, said the new record is an "outstanding achievement".

"Eminem is one of the greatest showmen in the world with a fiercely loyal Australian fan base that continues to grow with each tour," Dainty said.
