RBMA x SITG
Red Bull Music Academy has announced their Splendour In The Grass stage, for those playing at home.. One of the few memories that have stuck with me from Splendour In The Grass last year was pretty much every night finding myself wandering over to the Red Bull Music Academy stage in a fit of lost bewilderment, and without fail finding a killer dancefloor pimped out with incredibule electronic music and mind-wobbling visuals. I didn't always figure out who was playing, but not a time went by that I didn't visit that stage and have a rad dance and get some sweet time away form the hussle and bussle of Splendour In The Grass. The RBMA Stage is returning to Splendour In The Grass this year, and they've just announced another killer line-up of acts you might know, and ones you might not, but each and every one will no doubt provide a unique sonic environment for you to have THE BEST TIME. The line-up so far looks a little something like this: Young Franco Flamingo Cassius Select Remi Sampol

Friday Freebie(s): Go Freek & Embassy
One banger and one chiller this week.. Today we present you with a tune from either side of the spectrum, depending on what kinda weekend you have planned. For those who like to rock, Sydney duo on the come-up Go Freek have a lot to celebrate. Their single We Can Ride has been killing it on the charts and in the clurbs of late, and they've just signed with Art Killers Artist Management & PR, so they've chucked Milkshakes up in the cloud for free. As you can guess by the title it's a gutter-house take on the Kelis classic about her dairy products and their penchant for attracting people of the male persuasion to a section of land on or around some buildings. Go Freek have very quickly established a knack for killer drops, and this is no different. For those taking it easy this weekend, perhaps sipping on some tea in the lush surrounds of a georgous back yard (totes yards themes going on today), we have Embässy and the first in a five part series - his remix of What If, by Milan. We've

Introducing - JP Klipspringer
Get to know folktranica enthusiast JP Klipspringer, and his new EP, Drip Dry.. Celebrating his first full release, Melbourne solo artist JP Klipspringer answered a few questions for us so yo could get to know him - and his super-chilled slow jams that remind me of a sparser version of The Panics - a little better. Stream the EP below, or buy it HERE. Who are you? I’m Jack, and my new(ish) project is JP Klipspringer. It’s a solo outfit with a live band to back me at most shows. What kinda tunes we talkin’? We’re talkin’ lush, catchy, sad pop songs. Some electronic elements. Lots of keys, guitars and vocals. A few soulful beats. Production/writing process: I recorded and mixed my debut EP with Simon Lam of I’lls and Klo fame. It was such a fun project to work on, 'cause Simon is a total pro and completely understands what I want to get from my music. Generally, I would take a near fully-baked song idea to him, and we’d put the icing on together. What do you do outside of JP Klipspringer

Interview - Cloud Nothings
Dylan Baldi discusses his new album, and not having to deal too hard with pressure.. Dylan Baldi, at the ripe old age of 22 has released his fourth full-length album, Here & Nowhere Else, and it cements his indie-darling status. It's seriously all killer-no-filler, and we got to chat with him about it, dealing with the pressure of media outlets such as Pitchfork, and future plans with Wavves. Cloud Nothings' new album is out now via STOP START // iTUNES. Congrats on Here & Nowhere Else – your fourth album in about five years. Has much changed for your personally up to now since the last one given you’re still only 22? My general outlook on things has changed. I always felt like most people could do whatever they want with their lives, as long as they worked hard at it, but I started to doubt that after doing the band for three years and not having much success. Then things started to work out. It’s a very gratifying feeling to have something you’ve worked at for so long finally start

Introducing - Yeah Boy
The former young parachuter launches his solo project.. Out of the ashes of Parachute Youth, we'd like you to meet Yeah Boy, currently celebrating the release of his debut EP, Can't Get Enough: Who are you? My name is Johnny Castro, I'm 24 years old and living in London and loving it. What kinda tunes we talkin’? Funk nu-disco. But there is some diversity in my music as I'm always exploring new things and hopefully that shows in my second EP. Production/writing process: I think just mainly having fun with it. Letting things happen by accident is where the magic usually happens. When in a writing sessions with myself or anyone else, it's good to go in there without expecting too much, having a jam or something. I find that just experimenting and just playing around with sounds that aren't so 'typical' gives you a unique and positive outcome in writing. Just have fun with it!  Any shows coming up? I'm currently still putting the live show together, but expect something special. I'll be

Things We Learnt: Disclosure (Live)
Things you don't know if you didn't go.. We saw Disclosure last weekend, here’s some thoughts from said show. Header photo: Tunnel Vision Support DJ quality is important. Making sure to arrive nice and early, we were pleasantly eased into proceedings from WA duo Genga & Drifter, throwing down some b2b goodness that didn’t go too hard too soon. Errring on the side of “deep house”, with a bit of garagey gear thrown in, a remix of The Kite String Tangle’s Given The Chance was pleasant earlier, while Terace’s re-work of Drop The Game toughened things up nicely towards the end. Wave Racer is a great warm-up act, no matter what genre he’s supporting. The crew we went with weren’t particularly into the kinda music Wave Racer makes (here-on in known as happy trap), in fact the mention of the word ‘trap’ almost instantly caused dry-reaching on their behalf. However, as soon as Wave Racer stepped up to the plate to a rapidly filling venue, all preconceptions were out the window, and maximum boun

Alta - Wash It Down
New single and an amazing new clip from Melbourne duo Alta.. Following the release of their sophomore EP Game Broke Out a few months AGO, Melbourne boy-girl duo Alta are back with a new single, Wash It Down, and - to be frank - a fucking awesome video clip accompanying it. The twosome have been having a great year, supporting the likes of Bonobo and garnering some overseas love following appearances at Soundwave in Croatia, along with sideshows sharing the stage with forward-thinkers like Tokimonsta and Jonwayne. Wash It Down isn't so much a change of direction for the duo, rather more of a slinkifying of their sound, with some sexy synth lines paired with throbbing production work from Julius Dowson, combined with the alluring coo's of Hannah Lesser. It's really good, and the video clip is one of the most visually alluring we've seen in a long time. Enjoy it all below, and keep up to speed with the duos goings on via their FACEBOOK // WEBSITE. [UPDATE] Video will be back up soon - we
