"We decided then that we’d go somewhere together far enough away from the city to see the Milky Way."
With his forthcoming album Daydreaming on the horizon, Aussie singer-songwriter Richard Cuthbert today unveils a music video for his latest single.
Premiering via The Music, the clip for Milky Way required drummer Joe Driver and backing vocalist Lou Peake to become “mirror ball technicians”.
On the track itself, Cuthbert noted: “The first time that I went around to Lou’s house in Haberfield for dinner we ate really spicy san choy bow surrounded by a hundred pot plants outside in her share house’s paved garden area that backed onto Clark Rubber.
“It was night and we could see the stars. I said to her, ‘Look at the Milky Way.’ She said that we couldn't see the Milky Way this close to the city. It was probably a wispy cloud. We decided then that we’d go somewhere together far enough away from the city to see the Milky Way."
Milky Way is out now via Broken Stone Records/Remote Control Records and Daydreaming is slated for release this November.
