Country music has met its broken uncle.

Taken as a whole, Infinity is a frustrated promise.

It’s always nice to.find a gem of an album from a seemingly endless murky pool of mediocrity, but Out Of The Black is that gem. Efficient, accomplished and danceable.

This is just another instrument of torture in what’s a relentless iron maiden of taut aggression.

It’s a shame; there are moments to relish here, which is supremely frustrating, as there’s evidence of something more interesting lurking just beyond the album’s perimeter.

A short burst of old and new.

The forced combination of two art forms produced an overall piece of which no one interpretation will be the same. A lesson in the ambiguity of meaning.
