Love Deluxe releases kooky disco western clip to accompany his new single 'Dance Of The lizard People' where the visuals are as funky as the track

The kooky new clip for LOVE DELUXE's 'Dance Of The Lizard People' introduces us to a motley crew of western characters, where a disco cowboy band soundtrack a gunfight. It may sound bizarre, but it totally works. Directed by Madeleine Purdy, the visuals for the single are tongue-in cheek and utterly charming, perfect for the retro yet forward-thinking disco sounds of Love Deluxe.

Taking place on the set of a traditional old-fashioned western movie, the clip features a funky and camp disco cowboy band who continue to play while actors and props are moved around the room. There are plenty of sparkly costumes, toy guns, synchronised dance moves and a person in a horse mask being led by a rope.

The clip also doesn’t hold back on jokes, poking fun at itself by featuring meta elements like tradies constantly bringing in hay bales and prop pieces. There is a literal stand that reads “Icke’s Last Stand”. If that isn’t comedy gold, I don’t know what is. To top it all off, the true shining star of the clip is an actual lizard in a sparkly red cowboy hat.

This is all soundtracked by the single’s upbeat and funky synths, fat bass and banging cowbell. The clip perfectly captures Love Deluxe’s nostalgia-infused yet futuristic sound. Like his music, the visuals function as both a tribute to the glory days and an introduction to a new era of unique disco music.

Complete with a town sheriff and some very 80s visual fades, this clip is fun, funky and captures the true essence of Love Deluxe.
