Album Review: WAAX - Holy Sick

StarStarStarHalf Star

"Holy Sick is sure to throw you around in the best possible way."

More WAAX WAAX Profile

You don't need to read it anywhere to work out that the raucous sound of WAAX hails from Brisbane.

There's something about the fuzz, the carefree swagger and the vibrato that simmers on Maz Devita's vocals that seems to thrive in the sweaty, heaving bars and clubs that call that city home. Holy Sick is sure to throw you around in the best possible way, a taste of things to come should you find yourself standing in front of WAAX on stage. Nothing here screams world domination — just yet — but it's a solid introduction to a band full of venom.
