Thank goodness the Sydney alternative folkster didn't stray down that more commercial path because her sultry, haunting EP would never have sounded as good or as interesting. Reining in Gossling, and Thom and Andy Mak (Boy & Bear, Bertie Blackman, Silverchair), the youngster explores the inherent folk lilt in her voice in singles Hold and Settle, then dips it in thick electro sounds in Fingertips and Turn before the more simple Patterns, without compromising the fragility of her unique sound.
