Underappreciated but much-adored electro-acoustic disco pioneer Arthur Russell is celebrated on this tribute album produced by a truly astonishing array of talent that includes Sufjan Stevens, Devendra Banhart and even Melbourne’s Oh Mercy.

Like Russell they strive to achieve a balance between modern composition and dance beats. Mesmerising contributions from Robyn, Hot Chip, Blood Orange and even Scissor Sisters make for essential listening.
