Tom Gleeson: Hello Bitches

He is so likeable that in the unofficial feedback session that ended the show, the meanest thing anyone said was they didn’t like his suit.

More Tom Gleeson More Tom Gleeson

Tom Gleeson like to point out that his audiences isn't trendy, cool or edgy. And that's because neither is he. If comedy was a radio station, Rhys Nicholson would be RRR and Tom Gleeson would be Gold FM - none of the latest, underground tunes but a lot of crowd-pleasing greatest hits. His life with his new baby and wife informs much of his material, as he riffs charmingly and self-deprecatingly on everyman issues like baldness, middle age weight gain and iphones. Nothing outrageous but all good fun. He's a good storyteller, particularly about his own rebellious internal monologues, which offer up those 'Ah yeah, I've been there too' kind of laughs. He manages to sound like he's not swearing when he swears and doesn't even stray into controversial territory when dissing religion. He is so likeable that in the unofficial feedback session that ended the show, the meanest thing anyone said was they didn't like his suit.
