Album Review: The Anecdote - Carved Upon The Air

StarStarStarHalf Star

"We're around a camp-fire listening to the soundtrack of life's ups and downs."

The Anecdote truly live up to their name in their sincere story-teller debut Carved Upon The Air.

From the pain and suffering of Australian refugees in Exiled, "Take all you can and run away / Push down your death another day", to pure uplifting love and passion in The Sea, The Anecdote use their mix of swaying melodies, upbeat trumpet fanfare and Andrew Darling's soft, calming vocals to make it feel like we're around a camp-fire listening to the soundtrack of life's ups and downs, reminding us it isn't all that bad in the end.
