Skrillex's high voltage performance was the perfect way to end a memorable night that will go down as one of the biggest and best Shore Thing’s to date.
As 2013 drew to an end, thousands flocked to the iconic Bondi Beach for what was undoubtedly one of the biggest parties in Sydney, with a lineup that was not for the feint hearted.
The inaugural Shore Thing has become legendary as one of Sydney's biggest NYE music events. With the ocean as our view and sea breeze flowing through our hair, a crowd of diehard music lovers danced the night away, with the highlight of the night being Skrillex, who brought in the New Year with an epic performance that was to be his last show aboard his trademark spaceship stage set.
Kicking off the night was Sydney's own electro bandit Vengeance. The Kings Cross regular and “grinning horseman of the acid-rave apocalypse” got things going with a bang, with a set that paved the way for what was to be one hell of a night.
Next up was Alvin Risk who performed tracks such as ZOOM!, Put Em Up and Wash Dat to a steadily growing crowd of partygoers.

Jack Beats was next to take the stage and was easily one of the night's standout performances. By the time the London duo took the stage, everybody was going wild on the dance floor. Known for their wobbly bass lines, big breakdowns and edgy a capellas, the duo comprising of Beni G and DJ Plus One left the crowd wanting more.
Sydney boys What So Not, comprising of Chris 'Emoh Instead' Emerson and Harley 'Flume' Streten were up next and they absolutely massacred the dance floor. Their unique sound and wild live performance had the whole crowd gagging for more, but as the New Year was rolling in their set had to end as the countdown began.
The midnight fireworks were a spectacular display of pyrotechnics that had the whole crowd of in awe, but it was when the headline act Skrillex began 2014 with his set aboard the extravagant spaceship, that everyone really went crazy. This was Sonny Moore's first set in Australia since the 2012 Future Music Festival, and he has only gotten bigger since then. His high voltage performance was the perfect way to end a memorable night that will go down as one of the biggest and best Shore Thing's to date.
