"While there aren't any cheesy, metal anthems on this record, the band have certainly rediscovered the fun."

More Sabaton More Sabaton

After feeling things out on 2014's Heroes, the new(ish) Sabaton line-up has found their feet with The Last Stand.

While there aren't any cheesy, metal anthems on this record, the band have certainly rediscovered the fun, guitar-noodlin' vibe that originally shot them to the top of the power metal heap. Rorke's Drift hits harder than an artillery round, and Shiroyama is a synth-laden samurai adventure. Personnel shake-ups can spell the end for even the best bands, but The Last Stand shows that everyone's favourite Panzer tank loving Swedes will be holding the front-line for a long time to come.
