"Those high-wire vocals mesmerise from start to finish."

More Nothing But Thieves More Nothing But Thieves

English five-piece Nothing But Thieves' debut delivers on the promises their singles made throughout the year.

Very few voices have the god-blessed nuances to place them on any level near Jeff Buckley's but singer Conor Mason possesses one of them, and those high-wire vocals mesmerise from start to finish. From opener Excuse Me's soft whispers to all-out rock, to more bombastic, riff-laden singles Itch and Trip Switch, it's easy to get hooked. Muse is an obvious influence, but the neatly messy electric groove the boys pump out inspire thoughts that this is the direction Matt Bellamy and co should have kept up with.
