Porter Robinson has delighted fans by confirming his first album in seven years, Nurture, % is set for release come this April via Mom + Pop.
Pioneering producer Porter Robinson has finally confirmed the release date for his eagerly anticipated new album, Nurture. Set for release April 23rd via Mom + Pop, this album will be Robinson's first in seven years and will include previously released singles 'Something Comforting', 'Mirror' and 'Get Your Wish'.
Alongside this exciting news, Robinson has also shared a brand new single titled 'Look At The Sky', a song he said is "fundamentally about hope."
“There’s no shortage of fuel for despair, but you can’t take meaningful action to improve things if you don’t have some belief that things might get better. That’s what hope is, and I think it’s an emotion worth nourishing. I wrote this song at my lowest point emotionally, when I thought I couldn’t make music anymore, and I wasn’t sure if my existence would have any meaning if I couldn’t make music. In the lyrics, I’m sort of imagining what life would be like once I was on the other side of all that fear and anxiety and sadness. I’m happy to report that it’s amazing on the other side of all this, and I’m so glad I had hope and persisted.”
This release has been marked by the very generous explanations Robinson has continued to provide and share with fans, and a distinct openness to allow his loyal fans into his life. Having embarked on a hiatus after his game-changing Worlds album and enormous world tour (albeit he did still make music as Virtual Self), Porter Robinson has allowed for genuine and authentic connections to be formed between himself and his listeners, amplifying the deeply personal singles he's been releasing. Pair that with the typically innovative and future-facing production we've come to know and love from him and we certainly have a record on our hands which is undoubtedly going to be very special indeed.
