Album Review: Mike Caen - Mike Caen

Mike Caen has been on the scene for many years, in his own bands like Pink Slips and as a guitarist for Mental As Anything and Jenny Morris.

His own musings are based around intimate home recordings, this album apparently put together while on the road, and you get the feeling Caen made the most of his backstage time. The album opens with the climactic yet simple and effective Only Love. Feel Like Letting Go wouldn't be out of place on a Neil Young album while Sirens is reminiscent of Daniel Lanois with a dreamy tremolo guitar sound.
