After drawing more than 20,000 punters to this year’s inaugural edition of Southwave, the concert series has announced its return for early 2027.

Taking over South Bank’s Rainforest Green, QPAC’s Cultural Forecourt will once again host a free, open-air dancefloor starring international DJs, leading Australian artists and members of Brisbane’s local dance music community.

The 2027 events are all about bottling Brisbane’s summer energy, with house, disco, UKG and techno-inspired acts driving the dancefloor.

Next year’s line-up features an extended DJ set from Flight Facilities, a live performance from The Jungle Giants, the return of Nottingham dance music pioneers Crazy P, gooner pop outfit 2charm, Auckland-born, London-based brothers Chaos in the CBD, Brisbane-born, Sydney-based act Young Franco, and more.

Check out the Southwave 2027 schedule below.

“Brisbane is made for outdoor music experiences, particularly in summer,” said Dave Sleswick, Curator and Creative Director at The Tivoli Group. “Southwave is about making the most of that - good music, great people and a setting that feels completely different from your usual dancefloor.”

South Bank Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Julia Scodellaro, added, “Southwave showcases what’s possible when public space is used in new and engaging ways, creating opportunities for people to connect with culture and community. Through our partnership with The Tivoli Group, we’re proud to make world-class live music accessible to audiences.”
