Album Review: Loretta Lynn - White Christmas Blue

For country legend Loretta Lynn, 84 not only seems like a walk in the park, but a festive one too.

It has been 50 years since Lynn has released a Christmas album and unlike other late career Christmas albums, this one is a winner (if you like country). It not only cheerfully addresses the classics but also adds to the genre with White Christmas Blue (the album's title). Her voice is still there and even in the midst of what might be real holiday angst - "you're turning my white Christmas blue" - Lynn's voice offers enough earnest, Yuletide joy to turn your blue Christmas white again.
