Live Review: LISTEN: Sleigh Bells 'Irreplaceable'

Sleigh Bells have released this little Beyonce cover to show you Alexis Krauss' has a huge vocal range. Like really, this is impressive.

It’s a BEYONCE cover. Let’s just get that out of the way right now.* Moving on… Honestly, it’s not very SLEIGH BELLS. We’re used to a similar sound to The Kills and Crystal Castles, with roaring guitar/ synth/ bared-teeth attitude mishmash that just works works works works.

Instead ‘Irreplaceable’ is showcasing the vocal talents of the drop-dead sexy Alexis Krauss. White girl takes on Beyonce and does a damn good job of it; who knew it could be done? The understated music in the background thanks to Derek Miller enables max attention is paid to the fact that Krauss is crooning…

*It’s not out of the way. I love Beyonce and I don’t even care that this means I can't pretend to be hip anymore. She makes me feel EMPOWERED. And it’s International Women’s Day so we’re allowed to post girls ruling at everything.
