Live Review: Liyah Knight releases gorgeous new single, 'Moon Baby'

Following from her breakthrough debut EP, 'Nesting' Sydney/Eora rising star Liyah Knight has released a new single, 'Moon Baby'.

Following from her breakthrough debut EP, 'Nesting' Sydney/Eora rising star Liyah Knight has released a new single, 'Moon Baby'. Her debut EP focussed on showcasing her diverse songwriting talent, fusing together a range of genres to create an extremely personal introduction to the artists sonic world. She's collaborated with Peking Duk on The Set, has supported Budjerah, May-a and Milan Ring. With a track record that strong, 'Moon Baby' is ready to take the project to the next level.

'Moon Baby' follows perfectly from the end of 'Nesting's closing track, 'Somebody You' tackling concepts of infatuation. The period of a relationship with an uninformed dream like optimism. She vividly presents this notion via a dreamy, downtempo pop ballad experience. Slowly strum guitars and a simple percussion line combine with uplifting melodies and an always gorgeous vocal delivery from Liyah, peaking during the tracks hook.

Speaking about ‘Moon Baby’ Liyah says it’s about “meeting someone, loving someone; the euphoria, the excitement, the giddiness. Moon Baby is the early stages of allowing someone to be the epicentre of your mind and heart. Mark sent me three different demos one night. I heard this one and immediately recorded the hook. Once we finished writing the song, I worked closely with IAMMXO to bring it to its final state. It's the perfect bridge from the end of 'Nesting', to the beginning of 'Travellers Guide'. Picking up where we left off on 'Somebody, You'."

'Moon Baby' was also released alongside visuals, directed by Tristan Stefan Edouard.
