Every now and then, a voice comes along that really grabs you. Something about it immediately catches your attention, and never ever lets go. One such voice is that belonging to LAKYN, who continues to shine bright thanks to his absolutely beautiful voice and ability to transcend genres. His most recent effort, 'West', is a song about not getting too comfortable in one place for long, and given his latest move with this track, it seems to be ringing very true. Always one to push not only himself but his art into new territory to shake things up, Lakyn's 'West' has now been given a new life, thanks to the one and only ALICE IVY.
What was once a smokey tune with hazy synths, chilled beats and Lakyn's voice taking centre stage is now a smooth new dance jam. Featuring Alice Ivy's trademark grooves, this kaleidoscopic remix is a vibrant rework thrusting Lakyn into the electronic dance world. Continuing her prolific output of highly addictive dance tunes, Alice Ivy further cements her production abilities as a real force to be reckoned with in this remix, splicing the song up between gentle atmospheric breaks and heavy drops.
Ivy herself said of the new remix, "Lakyn's vocal tone is phenomenal, I wanted to challenge myself by recreating 'West' into a dance track. I spent more time on drums and the rhythmic elements of the remix, keeping the beat unpredictable and exciting. I really enjoyed working on this and I hope people dig it too." Unpredictable and exciting indeed, Alice Ivy is in truly fine form on this remix.
With Lakyn killing it in his own right and Alice Ivy only going from strength to strength, this remix is a perfect example of two breakthrough artists coming together to create something really special. We just hope there's more where this came from!
