JMSN has dropped "Drinkin", a powerful soul-hymn of self-acceptance and the first taste off his upcoming album Whatever Makes U Happy.

In anticipation of his upcoming full-length release Whatever Makes U Happy, Michigan vocalist and instrumentalist JMSN has dropped ‘Drinkin’, a soul-hymn of self-acceptance.

‘Drinkin’ is the first we’ve heard from JMSN since his exceptionally busy 2016. He released It Is., his third album to critical acclaim, as well as Closer; an electronic and experimental side project under the alias Pearl, all while running his own label, White Room Records.

‘Drinkin’ is JMSN’s confession of his problematic love to alcohol. The track eases into itself with limited instrumentation but as the chorus of instruments builds with the addition of the gospel organ, JMSN's sermon swells into a call-and-response explosion of individual satisfaction despite what the consequences of the pleasure may be. JMSN plays the role of the cantor leading his chorus of voices in a tipsy journey of disregard for the judgements of others, with the sermon being to simply “please yourself”.

‘Drinkin’ sets JMSN off to a strong and non-apologetic 2017, and we can only wait to see what’s next in his musical journey.

Whatever Makes U Happy is scheduled to be released April 28.
