Live Review: LISTEN: jj 'jj n° 4/ Beautiful Life'

jj are delighting your ears today. These dreamwave tracks lull you into reconsidering your failed relationship. He'll never get over you.

Wonderful Swedish dream pop duo jj’s newest track, ‘jj n° 4’, colloquially known as ‘Beautiful Life’ is just really lovely. It’s quiet and reassuring and feels like waves washing over you. And not in an “AAH! I’m drowning!” kind of way- in a pleasant, the “water is giving me a hug” kind of way.

The sweet vocals of Elin Kastlander, tell you that she’s “so in this bitch…” and that “he’ll never get over me.” I think this means that maybe she’s a little bit bitter about a dissolved relationship, but do you really mind? It sounds pretty and really captures a little desolation and melancholia, with just a dash of hope. A lot of hope really. She still admits that this is a beautiful life, and so long as you’re listening to jj it really, truly is. Bongo drums punctuate the track, but really you should focus on not focusing on anything at all…

The day you can hold this little single in your arms is May 8.
