Live Review: LISTEN: Here We Go Magic 'How Do I Know'

Here We Go Magic are back on your musical radar with the second single from their forthcoming album, A Different Ship. Yes, indie-folk, yes!

HERE WE GO MAGIC’s just released the second track from their forthcoming album, A Different Ship. It’s a joyful ditty, drawing very much upon frontman Luke Temple’s folk background.

It’s also got pretty synth and some lovely back-up vocals with a fast tempo, like a babbling brook. Just like a babbling brook. If babbling brooks made indie pop music, this is what it would sound like.

Temple speaks about the album: “The music is beautiful, but feels like it’s brittle and about to crack. It’s always suspended in between major and minor, happy and sad, trying to find that middle ambiguous place. A lot of the endings of these songs just kind of stop, like things are left suspended, floating in space. That’s a real characteristic of us as a band -- moving forward, even when we’re sort of unsure, and knowing we’ll find happy accidents along the way.”

A Different Ship hits stores May 4.
