Live Review: Flume taps Jon Hopkins for remix of 'The Difference'

It seems like only yesterday that FLUME released his first single of 2020 in 'The Difference' featuring none other than TORO Y MOI. That was back in March, and since then the song has gone on to amass millions of streams, become a viral TikTok hit and somewhat of a meme online. Now, three months later, the Australian pioneer has shared a new version of the song in the form of a remix by none other than Jon Hopkins.

Turning 'The Difference' into a kaleidoscopic wonderland underpinned by richly layered percussion and atmospherics, Jon Hopkins' remix is worlds away from the original. Injecting his own classic hallmarks, Hopkins flips the song into an expansive, blooming sprawl. Featuring wisps of Toro Y Moi's vocals, it's a remarkable remix of one of this year's biggest singles.
