Produced by the well-respected Astronomyy, NZ-born and Brooklyn-based Alayna's debut track 'Falling Autumn' is substantially sweet and memorable.
‘Falling Autumn’ is the debut single of New Zealand born, Brooklyn-based ALAYNA. Produced by ASTRONOMYY and released on 20XX, also home to ISAAC LEE, it’s a sweet and smooth R&B track that heralds your new favourite crooner.
Alayna’s debut has got an undeniably sweet quality about it- not because it is twee or throwaway but because it is exactly the opposite of that. It’s honest in exactly what it is asking, the hook makes it obvious - “Treat me good and I’ll treat you good too”. It’s Alayna’s control of tone while singing that delivers the sweet yet substantial quality. ‘Falling Autumn’ was written prior to her seachange, which should be blindingly obvious or else it’d be called ‘Falling Fall’, and because of that it does have a instinctually smaller town feel to it. A quiet and more honest reflection on what she needs and desires.
While the production is high quality in its distinctly lowkey yet complex fashion and Alayna has an undeniably great voice with an impressive range – it is the lyrics that are a true highlight of the song. “Close the door and throw your day on the floor” is a personal favourite, it’s simply evocative of a moment, the desire to throw the entire day down and be done with it. “Wont you stay to the morning and treat me good” is also an effective lyric, as while its only just a sentence, it manages to say a lot more; it asks for just a little bit of commitment for a whole lot of love.

If this Alayana’s debut, then it is obvious that this just a splash of what is to come.
