With DANNY BROWN continuously on point with his rap game, it's no surprise that crowd pleaser 'Smokin & Drinkin' from his Old album has been given its own remix EP, released through Fool's Gold. Amongst JACK BEATS, TROYBOI and DJ SLIINK, BOYS NOIZE has also made an appearance with his own 'Smokin Mix' of the track.
What seems like a jarring combination of artists when read in print (you know, Detroit rapper gets remixed by a Berlin electronic producer), actually turns out to be a well-fitting pair.
BOYS NOIZE downplays the hard-hitting, rap bite of the original edit but hones in on the vibes of the chorus as the main influence for his take, upping the percussion and leaving his mix more fragmented in the varying elements introduced.
Though BOYS NOIZE leaves the density out of his remix, he stays loyal to the tune's high-octane energy and in turn makes it work in his own blast of gritty-house.
