Live Review: D-Bass and Wongo 'Limitless'

Parisienne D-Bass pairs up with Gold Coast's Wongo for this club-groover track, 'Limitless', featured on the Filet Mignon Volume II compilation.

Paris-based DJ/producer D-BASS and Sunshine Coast's WONGO pair up for this unrelenting club track, 'Limitless'. Featured on Point Point's  Filet Mignon Volume II, 'Limitless' is just one out of 21 tracks featured on the mixtape.

Point Point - a collaborative effort from AAZAR, DEVOTED TO GOD, L'HOMME AUX 4 LETTRES and NOMAK - have rallied a range of young producers once more for the second instalment of the Filet Mignon mixtape, showing not only diverse collection of creative minds but also of their musical palettes.

'Limitless' isn't one to build-up or to have that 'massive drop'; the track immediately launches into a sonic realm of constant beats and thumping bass, all rhythmically driven and led by ostinato, percussive elements that range from tribal instruments to synth pads.

It's a consistent groover with warm-hued melodies that are never short of musical textures. With no time for a breather or a quick bench-rest, the scattered vocal samples and finger clicks will have you fervently moving and immediately lose all thoughts and cares.
