Live Review: PREMIERE: An exclusive mixtape from otherworldly Dane, Baby Blood

BABY BLOOD is back two months after her debut single 'Figurine' with a new mixtape which we are excited to unveil for the first time here at Purple Sneakers

BABY BLOOD is back two months after her debut single 'Figurine' with a new mixtape which we are excited to unveil for the first time here at Purple Sneakers.

Baby Blood's new mixtape is reminiscent of the dreamy R&B of 'Figurine' - with dark, futuristic bass, rising synths and an ethereal, brooding feel to the overall piece.

To those of you unfamiliar with Baby Blood it should be noted that Baby Blood is the alter ego of Lucy Love, the adjective phenomenon from Copenhagen, Denmark. However, as Baby Blood, she is something else entirely.

The visual of Baby Blood takes inspiration from the luchadores of the flying Mexican wrestling scene and combines masculine and feminine traits to create an almost genderless entity.

Baby Blood performs entirely masked preferring to keep the ego and hero worship that often comes with making music at a distance. Of this aspect of her performance she says “The core of this place is art, not the personality behind the mask.”

It's a refreshing move in a time where music often takes a backseat to the artist themselves and the music of Baby Blood's mixtape certainly deserves to take center stage.
