LANKSThe initial hook in Hold Me Closer works well in drawing the listener in with floating melodies and desultry electronic blips.
Aurelia in effect trips the listener into the sweet aesthetics of key song Beach Houses. This song bathes in mellow subtlety to great effect. Will Cuming’s voice is highlighted here as one of his most exemplary assets. Settle Down sounds more a commercially-minded single boasting simpler, played-up elements but as a whole it seems Lanks shakes stereotypical notions in his songwriting.
