"...laced with surprising sharpness and dedication to storytelling."

More L.A. Salami More L.A. Salami

Running at almost an hour and a half, after two EPs, Lookman Adekunle Salami's first full-length album feels like an odyssey.

It plays like Gorillaz in The Streets or a trip through Arctic Monkeys country with a chav Leonard Cohen. Fierce, folksy and fully infused with wry rhymes and fascinating percussive deviations, Dancing With Bad Grammar is a rambling journey laced with surprising sharpness and dedication to storytelling. Aside from one or two jarring moments like Papa Stokely (Skit), the album seems to bloom in both stake and scale as it unfolds until it finds itself fully established.
