Just A Bit... Funny is the second annual showcase of differently abled talent produced by the Parramatta Riverside Theatre’s Beyond The Square program.
The show blended surreal, absurdist video sketches with accomplished stand-up that skewered the overreactions of the well-meaning, the insults embedded the outright patronising, and taught us all to say “How the fuck are ya?” in Auslan.
Between The Cockblocking Carer and Sh*t People Say To Non-verbal Peeps, host Tommy Dean is right; Madeline Stewart’s quip, “Don’t think you’re all that great just because you can clap” should be on a T-shirt.
