Continually smashing through bogus ideas about genre limitations, yet forever doomed to the commercial ghetto of ‘world music’, Tawadros’ impressive collection of ARIAs still hasn’t led to a wider audience. Sure his flashy technique can be dizzying – try dancing to his warp-speed Odd Tango and you’ll get spaghetti limbs – but movements such as the spiralling variations of Truth Seeker Suite In A are pure witchcraft. If you have a pair of ears and an open heart, you’ll fall for this album. Go buy.
