Green's demeanour tonight seems a little nerve-racked and at times he cheekily checks his notes while downing some water. First night jitters aside, he engages the audience with tales of Glastonbury shenanigans, exasperated child-rearing and the inanities of Australian warning labels, creating an atmosphere of friendly banter. Recently hitting the 50-year-old milestone, Green looks back to his formative years, self-effacingly pulling the piss for some shoddily drunken sexcapades. Culturally aware and someone you could easily picture enjoying a pint with, Green concludes with a poetic tip of the hat to Australia.
