Brisbane-based hip hop artist JayCee has released a unique debut album.
The single The Iconic is smooth and confident while Musings has a solid drum beat and provocative lyrics about sex — making it a little saucy. Featured vocalist Naomi Rigby is amazing throughout the album. When they sing together, the harmonies impress, especially in Listen Up. Pay It Back is just a strange track; it doesn't fit in. Fill A Void is striking with its display of strong emotion before it's lost in Control, a darker vibe with deeper vocals. Playful, explicit and intense; a promising debut.
