Album Review: Jai Waetford - Jai Waetford

The latest tween sensation off the pop conveyer belt, Jai Waetford offers syrupy sweet tunes in his squeakily cute, undeveloped voice. Aptitude aside, he's 14 years old and his romantic sentiments are clearly and ruthlessly marketed towards silly, lovesick teenagers. The When A Child Is Born cover leans more towards a soppy, mother-in-law market, however, and contains a cringe-worthy sermon from Waetford's The X Factor mentor Ronan Keating. It's a shame that due to gaining third place on the show a rushed release was pumped out of this obvious talent before allowing him to mature naturally.
