I Am KlootI Am Kloot's latest recording Let It All In is the sixth offering from the English three-piece. It offers nothing too extraneous, instead presenting an easy going, simple take on alternative music.
There is a slight tinge of melancholy in John Bramwell's voice that is expressed through a simple storytelling style, demonstrating a man who has come to reflect on life and this sincerity is definitely the winning combination on Let It All In.
Bramwell takes his time to tell his story, letting the candid nature of opening track Bullets set the tone of the proceedings. Let Them All In gently floats, a song about finding acceptance, while These Days Are Mine bops along nicely with expressing confidence in living an independent life, the featured string arrangement heightening the more optimistic tone. Hold Back The Night kicks up the tempo considerably, while themes of reflection on the past can be found on Mouth On Me and Shoeless. Rounding out the proceedings is the gentle and soothing Forgive Me These Reminders.
The only thing detracting from Let It All In is that melancholy and reflection can be slightly wearisome after extended listening. Regardless, Let It All In is a fairly relaxed affair and is perfect to chill out to.
