Live Review: Go Freek serve up some primo gutter tech on their thumping guest mix

GO FREEK have become a mainstay in Australian music over the last few years due to their ability to command dancefloors with ease and craft effortless club tracks that continue to dominate. This year alone, they've released one hell of a new single in 'One Question', featuring Yeah Boy (formerly of Parachute Youth).

“It all started when I heard Parachute Youth’s 'Can’t Get Better Than This’, and Jonny’s voice gave me goosebumps. I remember begging Ajax for the stems to remix it... Fast forward a couple of years and Jonny’s new project, Yeah Boy, was well and truly making beautiful waves and thankfully a series of fortunate events lead us to work together. Have you ever had that one question about a broken relationship? We tried to capture that feeling in a dance record!”

The club hitmakers are currently smack bang in the middle of their biggest Aussie tour yet, spanning a whopping 15 dates over two months.

It's also seen them do something completely new - run a ticketed event in Sydney. For DJs and producers, the club is their mainstay, but a ticketed event means something much more than just being booked for a few hours in a sweaty den.

Their debut ticketed event, Freekquency, will kick off this Friday at the Civic Underground for what's set to be a raucous night, with SODF, Clueless and Nastyboys on support.

To celebrate the huge event, they put together a guest mix for Purple Sneakers on FBi Radio a little while back and in true Go Freek style, it's a whopper.
