"The Sydney comedian picked on baby boomers and straight white guys, and reflected on teenage pregnancy, infertility, break-ups and assault"
Gen Fricker — comedian, writer, musician, triple j and FBi radio presenter — performed her first Sydney Comedy Festival show in the as-intimate-as-it-gets loft of the Enmore Theatre.
Performing under the noise of next door’s Dave Hughes show, Fricker brought her usual deadpan stand-up. Filled with commentary and brutal honesty, the Sydney comedian picked on baby boomers and straight white guys, and reflected on teenage pregnancy, infertility, break-ups and assault. With a guitar and keyboard by her side, Fricker’s performance was also speckled with musical breaks. It’d be nice to see her take it a little more seriously, but Fricker is nonetheless one to watch.
