Album Review: Gary Clark Jr - LIVE

StarStarStarStarHalf Star

"Clark moves throughout his set, from style to style with ease and colossal presence"

More Gary Clark Jr Gary Clark Jr

With an opener like Catfish Blues, especially performed as well as it was, Gary Clark Jr’s LIVE album was surely going to be a big one, both in sonic delivery and scope. Clark’s improvised introductory passages are tasteful and purposeful, a clear indicator of his devoted attention to the blues. Clark moves throughout his set, from style to style with ease and colossal presence. Several Hendrix homages are highly distinguishable throughout his performance, although even these aspects of the album are embossed with Clark’s own voice and input.
