Album Review: Fitz & The Tantrums - Fitz & The Tantrums

StarStar

"... filled with auto-tune, electric drums and seemingly an indifference towards their existing fan base."

In 2006 ska heavyweights Less Than Jake released In With The Out Crowd, a record with minimal horns that turned out to be a bit shit. Gone were the grooves, the attitude and the brass that made LTJ a fan favourite.

It appears the same mistake has been made by LA band Fitz & The Tantrums. They wowed with their 2010 debut Pickin' Up The Pieces with groovy horns and Michael Fitzpatrick's soulful voice. This, though, is filled with auto-tune, electric drums and seemingly an indifference towards their existing fan base, who would be within their rights to turn their back on FaTT.
