Album Review: Emma Pask - Season Of My Heart

Don't let the clichéd sleigh bells 20 seconds into the first track freak you out. Emma Pask (aka The Voice soul lady, and sometime Dorothy The Dinosaur) does get in soul versions of the commercial carol fare, but it's her stretching of the form that works best. If Christmas family lunch fights over the stereo happen between folk, traditional hymns and The Devil's music in your house, Pask's multi-arrangement of Silent Night/Vincent/The Sounds Of Silence will keep everyone happy.
