Album Review: Emma Pask - Cosita Divina

Doesn't it seem a bit of a swizz when an establishing musical talent becomes a contestant on The Voice or X Factor?

Emma Pask was already enjoying the spoils of a respectable career in the jazz world when she made a decent dent in the second season of Nine's behemoth. Her fifth solo album (since 1999) is undulating jazz that will sashay in the background of pompous restaurants without anyone turning to Shazam to investigate further. Pask flows effortlessly between English and Spanish, but there's little here that will convert new fans.
