The greatest thing since leopard-print pants, Space Police: Defenders Of The Crown, is big guitars, bigger drums and an unrelenting good time. German five-piece Edguy bite their thumb at irony and push their unabashed heavy metal throwback full throttle on their tenth record. Classic riffage and ripping solos lay down the style of Space Police, while vocalist Tobias Sammet unleashes his falsetto battle cry. With tracks dedicated to hunting down aliens, banging cavemen and a goddamn recreation of Rock Me Amadeus, Edguy demand you throw up those horns and break out your best headbang.
