Album Review: Drowners - Drowners

"Any band fronted by a former male model is going to look good, but it’s how you sound that counts."

More Drowners Drowners

Any band fronted by a former male model is going to look good, but it's how you sound that counts. Luckily for Drowners, their self-titled debut LP doesn't sound half bad either. Loaded with fast-paced post-punk tracks designed to get you jumping up and down, it's no coincidence that Drowners have drawn comparisons with The Strokes and The Vaccines. First single, Luv Hold Me Down, is solid and Let Me Finish is a definite highlight. But you can't help but feel the tracks run into one other and the record might not sound too different set on shuffle.
