Diana Nguyen: Naked (MICF)

When Diana Nguyen says that things are going to get a little Naked, don't be surprised where things might go.

A seasoned performer in comedy, drama, song and cabaret, Nguyen can cover a whole lot of bases in a single hour, interweaving some top shelf crowd work and improvised songs. Taking down anyone foolish to interrupt at the drop of a hat and schmoozing the pants off the audience as she does it, Nguyen's charm is off the charts and out of this world.

Comedically, Nguyen is somewhat of an overly casual performer. Her stories veer away from the joke format, becoming simple stories, as if she's amongst friends in a pub catch-up. It's easily accessible, sure, but the resulting style pales in comparison to her extraordinary skills at extempore riffing. Nguyen is at her height when venturing into the unknown, playing effortlessly off those around her to create a truly unique and enjoyable experience.

Naked does what it says on the tin and exposes the inner life of a radiant stage presence. From her day job as an Uber driver to a very unfortunate incident involving an inflatable slide, Nguyen is charismatic and holds more attention that jus about any other performer out there. While her tales may be a little lacklustre amongst the ad-lib supremacy, Nguyen will always put on a smiles-a-plenty performance.
